Support a great cause by spending a night in with girlfriends

Posted Mar 5, 2010 By EMC News

EMC Events - When was the last time you got together with the girls? Last week? Last year? Want a good excuse to take back time for yourself and re-connect with girls you haven't spent quality time with since that pot-luck two years ago or New Year's Eve 1999?

Why not spend a Girls Night In!

The Canadian Cancer Society in Ontario has launched Girls Night In, a fun and flexible fundraising program that can turn any kind of get together into an opportunity to support research into cancers that affect women. It's all up to you!

Host any kind of get-together - a book club, dinner party, movie night- with the girls and ask your guests to donate what they might spend on a typical night out. This includes things like movie tickets, transportation or dinner. You decide how and when to get together and who to invite.

In 2009, an estimated 12,050 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast, cervical, ovarian and uterine cancers in Ontario. When you host a Girls Night In fundraising event you'll help write the next chapter in a success story that will change lives. It's a great cause to get together with the girls.

You can take the first step to hosting your own Girls Night In by visiting www.GirlsNightInForCancer.ca or by contacting the Canadian Cancer Society Ottawa unit office at 613-723-1744 ext. 3620.

Get the girls together, celebrate life and raise funds for research into cancers that affect women!
