Stittsville Legion branch prepares for Canada Day

On June l5 euchre was played at the Legion Hall, with Dave Argue having the most lone hands. Sandra Love had the ladies high score with Pat Doxsee placing second.
The men's high score was won by Randy Clouthier with Dick Ross as the runner-up. Brend Seguin had the low score with Dick Ross having the hidden score. The door prizes were won by Millie Mayer and D.J. O'Connell.
EVENING EUCHRE
By Pat Fitspatrick: On Thursday, June 10, 40 euchre players enjoyed an evening of laughter while playing ten games and having a light snack afterwards. Joy Gonyea took home first place with eighty three. Pat Fitzpatrick was second with seventy nine points and Garnet Vaughn came in third with seventy seven points. Low score went to Peter Moloughney and the door prizes were won by Lillian Baird, Bruce Crabtree and Claire Wolfenden.
COMING EVENTS
Euchre is played every Tuesday starting at 1:15p.m. at the Legion Hall.
Evening Euchre will be held every Thursday evening starting at : p.m.
Bingo is played every Wednesday starting at 6:45p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in all these events.

The Stittsville Legion Concert Band and the Legion Dance Band are both scheduled to perform at the Stittsville Canada Day festivities this year.
The Concert Band is starting at 3.p.m. with the National Anthem and dignitaries, as is the Legion Colour Party with the Dance Band starting at 5.p.m. We hope to see you all at the Goulbourn Rec. Centre on July 1st CANADA DAY.
The Stittsville Legion is holding BINGO on Canada Day at the Goulbourn Recreation Centre, come and enjoy all the fun.
Mark these dates for Steak nights on you calendar. July 16 and 30 and August 13 and 27. We are always looking for help on these nights.
Our Annual Duffers Golf Tournament is coming together well.
This year we decided to name the Scramble in honour of our great member "John Leroux".
The proceeds will go to the Rory Bradley Memorial Bursary. We will be playing at the Richmond Centennial course on August 12 with a 12:30 shot gun start. Registration is $55, includes golf, cart, BBQ steak dinner and lots of prizes. The course has a limited amount of golf carts so, first come first served. We welcome those who like to walk. The sign up sheet is at the Legion Hall. 613-836-1632 for information.
