Local veterans to present medals at track and field championships

EUCHRE

On July 13 euchre was played at the Legion Hall, with Jackie Ralph having the most lone hands. Marisa Martin had the ladies high score with Thea Both placing second. The men's high score was won by Greg Konkol with Dave Argue as the runner-up. Millie Mayer had the low score with Lorraine McLaughlin having the hidden score. The door prizes were won by Pat Doxsee and Dick Ross.

Euchre is played every Tuesday starting at 1:15 p.m. at the Legion Hall.

Evening Euchre is held every Thursday evening starting at 7 p.m.

Bingo is played every Wednesday starting at 6:45p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in all these events.

Mark these dates for Steak nights on your calendar: July 30, Aug. 13 and Aug. 27. Steak dinner is served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There is entertainment after dinner starting at 8 p.m.

Our Annual Duffers Golf Tournament has all slots filled. If any one would like to come to the steak dinner on Aug. 12 after the tournament, the charge is $15 per person. Please call the Legion at 613-836-1632

The next bus trip to the Slots will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4. For more information call Joan Davis 613-836-7489

The National Youth U18 and U16 Track and Field championships will take place on Aug. 6, 7 and 8 at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility at Mooney's Bay. Support for this event will be provided by Zone G5 Legion volunteers which includes the Stittsville Legion Branch 618. Veterans will be presenting all medals. Any veteran interested is asked to call our branch at 613-836-1632.

Ron and Bev Curry have just returned home safe and sound from British Columbia, they had a great time traveling across Canada.

Les North, the bar manager is on holidays. Graham Burgess is taking over this job for the next several weeks.
