Karaoke coming to Stittsville Legion

Posted Jan 12, 2012 By Barb Vant'Slot

EMC Events - The next Karaoke evening with Yellow Dory at the Stittsville Legion Hall will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 starting at 8 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.

Santa made an unexpected visit to the Stittsville Legion's dart night and gave a gift to Fred and Aileen from the dart players, led by Jamie Navan. Zone tournaments are coming up in the New Year and there is some interest in challenging the Richmond Legion for the "pee pot" trophy.

The Legion's gift exchange was successful with Santa and two of his senior elves, Pat and Barb, passing out the gifts.

The last Karaoke and pot luck supper with Yellow Dory was also a great success with many singers, yummy dishes and door prizes.

The New Year's Eve dinner/dance featured a dinner catered by George of "Gourmet To Go" and his two assistants. DJ's Mike and Norm kept everyone dancing into the wee hours. Legion president Ron Currie would like to thank everyone who decorated the hall and made it look so beautiful for the whole Christmas season.

Johnny Leroux is in the hospital as he has undergone emergency surgery. We all at the Legion miss him and wish him a speedy recovery.

Bingo is played at the Legion Hall every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. with everyone in the community welcome to participate.
