One steps aside, another joins

One has left but another has come on board.

So the Board of Directors of the Goulbourn Township Historical Society remains with a full complement after the Society's annual general meeting last Saturday, Jan. 21.

The three year term of Theresa Qadri, who has been serving as the treasurer, has expired and she has decided not to continue on the Society's Board.

She has been replaced on the Board by Debbie Proulx who was elected by acclamation to the position. She was unable to attend the annual general meeting due to work commitments but the head table featured a large photograph of her, taken on a trip to Ireland.

Historical Society president Barbara Bottriell, who said that she has known Ms. Proulx for 15 years, noted that she has an accounting background which may mean that she will end up as the Society treasurer. President Bottriell also praised the contribution which Theresa Qadri had made to the Board of Directors over the past three years. She presented her with a pot of tulips as a gift of appreciation for this.

Other than this one change, the Board of Directors of the Historical Society remains the same for the coming year, with Board members completing various years of their three year terms.

John Brummell and Tina Cockram are going into the second year of their three year terms on the Board.

Going into the final year of their three year terms on the Board are Lee Boltwood, Barbara Bottriell, Rev. Jim Kirkpatrick and Mike Bryan.

The financial statement of the Historical Society which was presented at the annual general meeting showed that the Society began the 2011 year with $4,767.68 in the bank and ended the year with $4,950.15 on deposit. Income for the year was $7,610.27 while expenditures totaled $7,427.80.
