Valentines 50's Dance, entertainment and euchre at Stittsville Legion Hall
Posted Feb 2, 2012 By Barb Vant'SlotEMC News - It's time to start thinking about Valentines Day and there is no better way than to attend the Valentines 50's Dance which is being held at the Stittsville Legion Hall on Saturday, Feb. 11 starting at 8 p.m. Besides prizes for best costumes, there will be twist and hula hoop contests. A lunch will be provided later in the evening. All of this will happen for only $10 per person. Tickets are available in advance from the bartender at the Legion Hall. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
On Saturday, Feb. 18, the lounge at the Legion Hall will be the place to be, with "A Touch of Class" featuring Simon Clarke (formerly of "Freddie and the Dreamers") entertaining. Simon will take you back to the 1960's. There is no charge to attend this afternoon of entertainment. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
Euchre is played at the Stittsville Legion Hall every Tuesday starting at 1:15 p.m. while bingo is played at the Legion Hall every Wednesday starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend these events.
Dot Doxsee had the ladies' high score at the euchre which was held at the Stittsville Legion Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Bev Konkle was the runner-up for the ladies.
Win Burchell had the men's high score, with Bill Dobson placing second.
Bobby McGillvery had the most lone hands while Helen Read had the hidden score. Joan Benoit had the low score.
Door prizes were won by Bev Konkle and Lillian Baird.
