Youth Connexion

EMC Events - Stittsville's Youth Connexion program has some active months coming up.

Monthly drop-in sessions at the Connexion Lounge at the Pretty Street Community Centre will be happening in February, March and April. On Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., it will be Valentine Time with a Valentines Day movie, a candy heart bingo, Valentines treats and more. On Wednesday, March 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a photography workshop where youth can learn the basics of photography. On Wednesday, April 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be an Easter egg hunt, not only hunting for chocolate eggs but also decorating eggs. All three of these sessions require registration which can be done by email at youthconnexion@ottawa.ca. There is a five dollar registration fee.

There are also a number of special activities planned for February, March and April. On Saturday, Feb. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a spa night at the Connexion Lounge. This event, limited to girls only, ages 10-16, with a seven dollar fee. This spa night will include manicures, pedicures, facials, braids, games and more. Those wanting to attend must sign up by email at youthconnexion@ottawa.ca by Wednesday, Feb. 8.

You have seen it on TV. Now you can experience it in person at a "Minute To Win It" event on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Connexion Lounge. This event for those in grades six to eight is just like the game show, with one minute challenges. There is a five dollar fee. Registration is required at youthconnexion@ottawa.ca by Wednesday, Feb. 22.

On Tuesday, March 12, there is an opportunity to try paintless paintballing. This all day event for those aged 12 to 16 years will see youth picked up at the Pretty Street Community Centre for transport to the paintballing site. Cost is $50 for those aged 12 to 14 years old and $56.50 for those aged 15 and 16 years old.

Registration is required at ottawa.ca with barcode 707530 for ages 12-14 and barcode 707531 for those aged 15 and 16.

A fashion show is being planned for Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Stittsville District Community Centre, with a five dollar admission charge. The latest youth fashions will be on display. There will be an auction on all items after the show.

April will see a coffee house on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. at the Stittsville District Community Centre hall, with a five dollar admission fee. Those interested in performing in this coffee house should email youthconnexion@ottawa.ca to reserve a performance spot. A "Much Music Video" dance is being proposed for Friday, April 20 for grades five to eight at the Stittsville District Community Centre hall, with a $10 admission fee. Those planning to attend must register in advance by Wednesday, April 18 at youthconnexion@ottawa.ca.
