EMC News ...The Stittsville Minor Hockey Association is among those nominated in the category of Community Support/Non Profit Organization for Goulbourn (including Stittsville) in the People's Choice Business Awards organized by the Kanata Chamber of Commerce. Anyone can vote online in this competition, although you have to act fairly quickly as the voting ends on Friday, Feb. 3 at midnight. Voting takes place via the Kanata Chamber of Commerce website....City of Ottawa Stittsville ward councillor Shad Qadri reports that the city's 2012 capital budget includes $170,000 to install a sidewalk on the east side of Stittsville Main Street from Fernbank Road to Brigade Avenue which is all along Bell Memorial Park...The Stittsville District Lions Club are hosting a hypnotist's show on Saturday, March 17 which is St. Patrick's Day at the Lions Hall on Stittsville Main Street. Details to follow...Carolyn Clark, who is the president-elect of the Rotary Club of Ottawa - Stittsville, has recently returned from a trip to Japan where she visited with her son Tom and his family. The trip involved a 14 hour flight from Toronto as well as a 13 hour return flight to Toronto. That's a lot of air time...Ever wondered about taking an African safari?
