EMC Sports - The Sacred Heart Huskies and South Carleton Storm have both yet to experience the taste of defeat in high school hockey action so far this season.

Both are sporting unblemished winning records as the schedule has reached the two-thirds point.

The two teams are in different tiers, with the Sacred Heart Huskies competing in the AAA/AAAA division of the tier one league while the South Carleton Storm are playing in the tier two league.

The Sacred Heart High School Huskies have chalked up seven straight wins so far this season, scoring a league leading 46 goals while allowing only 18 goals.

The Huskies defeated St. Pius X High School 6-4 in its last game on Thursday, Jan. 19. St. Pius is in second spot behind the Huskies with a record of five wins and three losses in eight games.

The Huskies have three games remaining in the regular season, as they will be taking to the ice against Holy Trinity, All Saints and Colonel By, with the regular season finishing on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

As for the South Carleton Storm, playing in the tier two league, the Storm have skated to six straight wins to lead the ten-team league.

The South Carleton High School Storm have scored 25 goals while allowing only 12 goals in these six games.

Except for an 8-3 win over St. Patrick High School, the Storm's wins have all been by two goals or less including a 1-0 shutout win over Cairine Wilson Secondary School.

The Storm now have four games remaining in the regular season, all to be played in a nine day stretch between Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday, Feb. 9.

In high school girls' hockey, both Sacred Heart and South Carleton are not doing as well as the undefeated boys' teams.

The Sacred Heart Huskies have only suffered one defeat in seven games and are sitting in fourth place in the 11-team league. The Huskies started off the season with three straight ties and then, after a 7-3 loss to Ecole Louis Riel, have rattled off three straight wins.

The South Carleton Storm are currently on a four game losing streak which came after the team's only win of the season, a 3-2 victory over Osgoode High School.
