Richmond curlers honoured at banquet

EMC Sports - The 59th annual Ottawa Sports Awards banquet on Wednesday, Jan. 25 honoured a curling rink that includes two curlers from Richmond.

The curling rink skipped by Joyce Potter was honoured as one of the teams from Ottawa that won provincial championships.
With Joyce Potter as skip and Diana Favel as third, the rink also includes Jennifer Langley as second and Brenda Moffitt as lead. Both Jennifer and Brenda are members of the Richmond Curling Club.
This curling rink won two Ontario championships in 2011, the Women's Masters title and the Senior Women's title. At the national Senior Women's championship, the rink finished second, losing by a score of 8-6 to a New Brunswick squad in the championship final.
