EMC Sports - Stittsville's Meghan Corley-Byrne is shining in nets for the Mount Allison University Mounties women's hockey team again this season.

She was at her best on Sunday, Jan. 22 when the Mounties defeated the St. Mary's University Huskies 5-0 at the Huskies' rink in Halifax, turning aside 24 shots in earning the shutout.

The win kept the Mounties one point behind the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers in the battle for third place in the league standings, with the Mounties having one game in hand.

Mounties head coach Zach Ball felt that this was one of the Mounties best games of the season so far.

He credits Meghan's hard work and focus for her success as a goalie, praising her play against St. Mary's Huskies.

"She was very strong, always quick, controlled and composed," he wrote in an email about the game, noting that Meghan made several great saves as time ran out in the game, preserving the shutout.
