Ties rampant at Lions euchre
Posted Feb 16, 2012 By John CurryEMC News - Ties were the name of the game at the euchre party hosted by the Stittsville District Lions Club at the Lions Hall on Stittsville Main Street in Stittsville on Thursday evening, Feb. 9.
Edna MacKay and Viviane Lester both ended up with 79 points, tying for first place after the evening of euchre.
Behind them, tied for third place with 73 points apiece, were Joy Philips and her husband Ron Philips.
Carol Brown had the hidden score with 63 points while Carol Persi won the booby prize.
The door prize went to Bradley Lewis while the 50/50 draw winners were Craig Lester and Greg Konkol.
There were no skunks recorded during the evening of euchre.
The Stittsville District Lions Club hosts a euchre party every Thursday starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Lions Hall in Stittsville, with everyone welcome to attend and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship playing euchre.
And don't forget to bring along some Canadian Tire money to donate towards the fishing derby which Lions Clubs hold each spring for visually impaired fishermen, providing them with a day out on the water enjoying their fishing pasttime.
